The information revolution has changed the ways of mass communication and has some negative and positive effects on individual’s lives as well as on society. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Nowadays, mass communication has become a controversial debate among people all over the world. It has both constructive and destructive sides. Mass Communication includes the invention and usage of emails, mobile phones, social media, etc. I am inclined to highly believe that all these things are quite beneficial for everyone. In this essay, we will discuss both positive and negative aspects of changing ways of mass communication and will lead to a plausible conclusion.

To begin with, there are several reasons why I support mass communication. Firstly, mass communication helps an individual to share their ideas globally. Secondly, people can have easy access to information on any topic as it is available just a single click away because of the internet and phone. People became more updated because they can get news in their hand within seconds. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter have brought the world together. For instance, a son or a daughter living in abroad is not so far now, we can do a video call to them anytime and can have a chat to get in touch with them. It is apparent why mass communication is significant for individuals to lives as well as for society.

On the other hand, mass communication has some drawbacks also, such as people spend more time on their computer or laptop that leads to various diseases such as bad digestion, obesity, etc. In a study, researchers found that higher use of new technology is negatively correlated with less productivity at schools. It leads towards ‘Cyber Crime’ also. Hence, it is clear that mass communication also adversely affects individuals.

In conclusion, after inspection upon further paragraphs, we can say, “Every rose has its thorns.” In a nutshell, it can be concluded that the benefits of mass communication are far outweighed its drawbacks.
